Faces and Birds

This is the bird that is everywhere here. They are an invasive species from the Philippines This, the white tern and the frigate bird are the predominant birds.
If you zoom into this square rock cliff in the middle you will see a face looking at you. This is supposed to be a goddess making a ferocious face to scare off any attacks. Well maybe you need a little more punch to imagine it.  In fact Huahine the name of this island means the female sex. Hua + vahiné.  Here I am dressed for snorkeling looking like a goddess. I am fully clothed here as not to have to worry about sun burns and I love it. I kind of have the same smirk as the one in the cliff.
We were biking on our road and saw these people butchering a steer. I called over and asked them when was the barbecue.  They are skinning it as it hangs upside down and two men heist it or lower it with the ropes tied to it’s legs. What a site.
This is the beach we have been snorkeling on, so calm and empty.  A beautiful reef just a short bike ride from the house.

I have on spf pants too.  I take the hat and glasses off but wear a swim cap to snorkel.  What the french would call a burkini ( from burka).
