Lorne and Melbourne

Here we are in Lorne, a cute town on the southern coast where cockatoos are everywhere and the waves roll in steady.  Bell’s beach is a world class surfing beach not far from here.
The colonial architecture with the iron work is really beautiful.
This is a Banksia tree, named after another botanist that traveled with Cook.  They are very strange looking.

This woman was an amazing individual.
The cockatoos are everywhere and these guys are doing what is a popular activity, throwing something on the barbi.  Footie is another great sport here in Australia. Every region has its team. It’s like football without pads or helmets and they can throw or kick the ball, contact sport.

Here we are at dinner with our sweet friends,  Adine and Marijke.  We wish them all the best and thank them for such a wonderful stay inMelbourne.
Goodbye Australia!
