Mala walk

Mala are small rat sized kangaroo.  There are peoples that identify with them called the Mala people as opposed to the caterpillar people or snake people.  They occupied these caves at the base of the rock.

Some petroglyphs from the caves.

There is a real peace in some of these spaces where the rock resembles a wave or just falls down into a pond where animals come to drink.  There is a story of the lady emu.  Hunters would wait at the waterhole for the emus to come drink and as the emu left they would spear the last emu as not to frighten the other emus so that they wouldn’t come back to the waterhole. They would just wonder where that last emu went.
There is a strange red glow in the sky every sunset. It just blazes. It must be the particles in the atmosphere.

In the 50’s they did some nuclear testing in the area thinking nobody lived in certain parts. The aborigines remember 1953 and the blast afterwhich they talk of a black mist that hung over the plains.
